Anisha is a licensed professional counselor, board-certified counselor, a certified employee assistance specialist, and a certified clinical trauma professional specializing in trauma recovery, especially with people of color in the LGBTQ+ community. She is most known for providing healing spaces for black queer folks to unwind and embody their authentic selves. In doing so, she’s shared healing practices with major television networks and worked with celebrity clients on their mental health journeys.
Her own journey started at Georgia Southern University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry and a concentration in Psychology. Soon after, she completed her Master of Education with a concentration in Community Mental Health Counseling. As she pursues her Ph.D. in Counselor Education at Mercer University, her intention is to make room for people of color in academia. Likewise, her research is focused on breaking generational curses and barriers to mental health care within the black community.
At the heart of it, she is an advocate, speaker, and trainer who is passionate about working with intersectionality. She self-identifies as lesbian and believes in the power of diverse representation in the mental health arena.
“My most rewarding work,” says Anisha, “is creating content that is centered on mental health that engages the black community.”
