CARE Unit (or Comprehensive Assessment and Recovery Experience Unit) is a leading destination for those seeking consults and support. This assessment considers all aspects of an individual’s life before care is recommended. Our self-pay CARE Unit helps reduce suffering and improve quality of life through personalized attention that addresses more than just symptoms.
Our team of expert behavioral health and medical assessors ensures clear diagnosis and more accurate treatment of each client’s complex symptoms. The CARE Unit supports and motivates clients to pursue post-assessment treatment options, resulting in better opportunities for successful recovery and healing.
Our Services
The CARE Unit carries out a thorough evaluation of each individual’s needs. Assessment is accomplished through written, spoken, historical, and observed interactions led by a team of psychiatric and medical care providers. Therapists and counselors also assist, ensuring a full treatment team for each client.
Following this is the findings session and development of a custom-crafted care recommendation. We collaborate with families and healthcare providers to ensure a coordinated approach to recovery. As preferred providers, we work with participating Cedars-Sinai Medical Center departments in Southern California, or at the client’s home. This ensures individuals receive appropriate professional guidance.
Initial Assessment
The initial assessment involves a detailed evaluation of the individual’s medical history, substance use patterns, and any co-occurring mental health conditions. This, along with written and verbal assessments, enables the team to tailor our approach to ongoing care recommendations accordingly.
Unlike traditional half-hour or hour-long phone assessments, the CARE Unit involves a short-stay residential evaluation. This usually runs for 21-28 days where your loved one can receive psychological and personality testings and therapy.
Comprehensive Evaluation
Our comprehensive evaluation covers multiple aspects of the individual’s life, including:
- Medical Evaluation: Assessing physical health and any medical conditions that may impact recovery.
- Psychological Assessment: Evaluating mental health status and identifying any co-occurring disorders.
- Social Evaluation: Understanding the individual’s social environment and support systems.
Personalized Care Plan
Our CARE unit goes beyond perceived treatment needs. Instead, it highlights treatment based on the unique circumstances of each individual. Personalized care plans include:
- Treatment Recommendations:
Suggestions for medical detox, residential treatment, or outpatient programs. - Support Services: Access to various therapies, counseling, and support groups.
- Family Involvement: Strategies for involving family members in recovery to provide a supportive environment.
Ongoing Monitoring and Support
Our commitment to recovery doesn’t end with the initial assessment. We provide ongoing monitoring and support to ensure the individual stays on track with their recovery goals. This includes regular follow-ups, adjustments to the care plan as needed, and continuous communication with healthcare providers and family members.
